On October 1–7, 2026, Boston hosted Boston Longevity Week, a series of major scientific conferences and events that brought together leading researchers, clinicians, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry representatives, and investors working on aging and longevity.
Two major conferences anchored the week, with leadership from Vadim Gladyshev and Jesse Poganik of Genetics Division, Department of Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
The 13th Aging Research and Drug Discovery (ARDD) Conference, held October 1–3 at Harvard University’s David Rubenstein Treehouse, moved from Copenhagen to Boston for the first time. Gladyshev served as Executive Chair and Poganik as Co-Chair. The conference attracted more than 800 participants and covered advances in aging biology, AI-driven drug discovery, longevity therapeutics, clinical trials, and translation of aging research into medicine. The meeting opened with remarks by Harvard Medical School Dean George Daley and featured an address by Admiral Brian Christine, U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health, along with participation from FDA leadership, leading academic scientists, and representatives of major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
The 4th Annual Biomarkers of Aging Conference, held October 5–6 at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School, was co-chaired by Gladyshev and Poganik, together with other investigators. The meeting attracted more than 450 participants and addressed molecular, digital, and functional biomarkers of aging, systems aging, rejuvenation, clinical applications, and regulatory considerations. The program was complemented by workshops on theories of aging, replacement strategies, and the physics of aging, as well as symposia on brain aging and reproductive aging on October 7.
Together, these conferences and associated events further established Boston as a leading international center for aging and longevity research, fostering new collaborations across academia, medicine, biotechnology, and the pharmaceutical industry.
To support this growing community, the Gladyshev Lab also launched the Boston Longevity Hub, an initiative connecting scientific conferences, research groups, biotechnology companies, and other longevity activities throughout Greater Boston.
